![]() ![]() While most of the kids in South Park soon join in Stan, Kyle and Kenny's resolution to ignore Cartman, Butters is unaware of the movement, and so greets Cartman as he passes by. He also hears his mother screaming as she has sex with a plumber, mistaking it for crying over his death. He believes this to be confirmed when he goes home and sees a casket-like box coming out of his house, which the men carrying it mentioning that it was filled with chicken skins, when in reality, it is the toilet that Cartman destroyed with his last use of it. ![]() Cartman, however, discovering that nobody seems to see or hear him, believes that he has died and became a ghost. Realizing that he thrives on the fact that they rip on him, they decide that the best way to deal with him is to completely ignore him. The next day at the bus stop Stan, Kyle, and Kenny are still angry at Cartman and decide that this time he has gone too far. As they do so, Cartman eats all the skin off the chicken and the boys become incredibly angry at Cartman for eating the best part of the KFC (which causes Kenny to immensely burst into tears). She arrives and asks the boys to help her take the shopping bags inside. PlotĪt Stan's house, the boys wait for Sharon to return home with KFC. Together they attempt to make amends to all the people Cartman has wronged over the years. SynopsisĬartman is sure he's dead and Butters is sure that Eric Cartman's ghost is haunting him. It’s not all bad news for Cartman, though. Why just eat a beef burger every time when you could have one made with sunflower seeds, pea protein, wheat, soy, or even mushrooms instead? The flexitarian movement is gaining strides as more and more people opt for vegan meat and nondairy products - not just for health, ethical, or environmental reasons, but because these are tasty ways to mix up mealtime. ![]() And, second, most people opting for plant-based foods don’t see it as a sacrifice. Number one, there are truly tasty vegan options for everything (including fried chicken). “They say you can even drink the ‘Beyond Gravy’ as like a protein boost,” he tells her.īut the joke’s on Cartman for a few reasons. Of course, Cartman’s commitment was a farce as he (spoiler) slaps the word “Beyond” on a bucket of KFC chicken and convinces Heidi it’s all plant-based. Then he tells Heidi, “You were so right when you said there were vegan options for everything,” referencing Beyond Meat’s ever-popular Beyond Burger. ![]() I’m vegan from now on.”Īt school the next day he raves about how he’s loving all the vegan food. “I want to be vegan with you,” he tells a reluctant Heidi over the phone, through his tears. He’s guided instead, as always, by his own self-preservation, gluttony, and in this case, mashed potatoes and gravy. The episode, “Doubling Down,” was hailed by Forbes writer Dani Di Placido as “the most insightful episode in years,” for many hilarious reasons, including Cartman’s failed attempt at genuine human (?) connection. Comedy Central’s “South Park” took vegan mainstream last night when everyone’s favorite curmudgeon Eric Cartman went vegan for his girlfriend, Heidi. ![]()
